Skeletons on Skeletons is a souls-like action RPG where you explore dungeons and fight enemies to gain skills and collect gear..

.. is what the final game will potentially become, but for now, in this prototype, you can explore and fight enemies in two dungeons, explore a small part of an outdoor lobby area, and die.

You are a hero... were a hero. You died centuries ago fighting your nemesis, a powerful red dragon. A necromancer has arisen you both, along with an army  of the undead. You must set aside your differences to save the world from the skeleton apocalypse.

This is a very early prototype. Features implemented:

  • Movement (Walk around with WASD)
  • Combat (Left and Right mouse buttons to attack)
  • Death (HP bar that drains as you get hit, when empty, you return to start)
  • Multiple dungeons and a lobby area

The camera movement gets stuck a lot. Either stopping completely or only allowing you to look a certain amount in that direction. Makes navigating the area & fighting difficult in the bad way. Other than the camera clunkiness the game is mostly good!

Man, the keyboard movement does not want to work...otherwise, bashing skeletons was fun for a bit. I haven't found...anything...as far as gear goes, am I missing something?

For a web game, this actually ran suspiciously decent. You seem to have forgotten to crap your game up with fifty-something shaders. (Bless you!)

Thanks! The assets I used came with 4K textures so it wouldn't even run on here until I shrank them down to 1K.

For the controls, I haven't had any issues. Once the frame has focus it's just WASD to move, left/right click to attack. What browser do you use? Maybe I can find a workaround if some aren't compatible. It's also possible you may have gotten stuck in the floor.

For the gear, I haven't implemented that yet, it's a pretty early prototype adapted from a game jam game. I should probably mention that in the description.

Thanks for the feedback!

Now that you mention it, I did get stuck in the floor a few times, but managed to get myself out somehow. I'm using Opera on Windows 10.

...just went back to try it again, and it worked fine...I didn't stop to think though, that I did hit alt plenty of times. Could've just gotten stuck in the window menus or something.
